Four-time motocross world champion Jorge Prado, who has raced Austrian-built machines throughout his professional career, has confirmed that he’ll be racing for Monster Energy Kawasaki in the United States of America in 2025.
The 23-year-old from Lugo, Spain, dipped his toes in the water in 2024 as he competed in the first four rounds of the AMA Supercross series on his Red Bull GASGAS, scoring a heat race win, a couple of holeshots and a seventh-place finish in San Francisco. After that, he returned to Europe where he won his fourth world title after an incredible scrap with Tim Gajser that went to the final round.
Prado will race alongside 2018 AMA Supercross champion Jason Anderson in the 450 class of the Supercross, Motocross and Supermotocross World Championship on a KX450SR. Having scored AMA points in 2024, he’ll wear #70 in 2024 which is coincidentally the same AMA-issued number that Ricky Carmichael used as a full-time pro in 1997. Will Prado’s US career match The GOAT’s?
“Coming to America to race Supercross, Motocross and the Supermotocross World Championship with Monster Energy Kawasaki is an incredible opportunity,” enthuses Jorge. “I've always admired the level of competition here, and I’m excited to challenge myself against some of the best riders in the world. This is a new chapter in my career, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got, representing a legendary factory like Kawasaki. The passion and intensity of the fans here is unmatched, and I can't wait to experience that energy.”
