Josh Says: Final run to GP1
By TMX Archives on 14th Mar 08
Hey there, Well where do I start! It's been a while since I last checked in and I'm sorry for that I've done heaps of work and cool stuff so I'll give you a run down.
After my last column I was about to head to France to Antoine Meo's house totrain with Jacky. I had a great time there and the weather was good so that madelife easier! I rode three days, did some cycling and running. Get this: Antoinehas a little pig that came running with us! 10km. I've never had a pig gorunning with me before and the little guy kept up all the way!
Antoine has a really cool track. At one part it goes through a tunnel underthe railway. It has heaps of awesome jumps and I hope to go back there soonAfter the three days work we needed to rest so Jacky, Antoine, Gautier, Jamieand myself went and played 9 holes of golf. That was fun and on the way homeAntoine tried to show us how to do a skid in his car. It's a Citroen, the funnylooking one that windows fold down on!!! He hit the round-a-bout and we got 2flat tires
From here I went to Valance and won as you know. Jamie and I then headed hometo Belgium where I did a normal weeks training, and I picked up my new van fromnew sponsor Hyundai. It's really cool and perfect for me. I wasn't feeling sogood in Hawkstone, remembering that I have only ever came a way there injured inthe past ! So I took it easy but still made the podium which I was happy about.
Now we're on the final run in to GP1. I am happy with where I'm at and Iachieved my goal of winning a couple of races and being on the podium in all thepre season events. I've started to ride more in the sand now. Up until HawkstoneI hadn't ridden in the sand but this past week I've been able to get in a fewrides. The weather has been terrible this past week but it's picked up a bit nowand I plan to get a lot of riding done over the next weeks.
The week after Hawkstone I flew to Grenoble in France with Jacky and thendrove to Val Thorens. It's the highest ski field in Europe. Jacky was there withhis family and I planned to get away for a bit and rest my shoulder. I did somesnow boarding, swimming and snow trekking, It was a fun week! This past weekI've been training in Germany with Stephan and I went riding in Grevenbroichwith Marcus Schiffer. The track was good, even after all the rain.
So that's it for now I'll get you some pics from riding this weekend Ipromise
Cheers,
Josh
