Kawasaki dominates the French MX Series

Xavier Boog, Maxime Desprey and Nicolas Dercourt dominated the opening round of the French Elite MX series at St Jean D'Angely on their debuts for Monster Bud Racing Kawasaki
It was a rainy and muddy weekend at St Jean, but that was not a problem for the experienced Bud riders who defied the bad conditions to win both classes. In the MX1 class Xavier Boog just missed the hat trick, as he suffered from arm pumped during the first race while leading easily.
Second in this moto he later dominated the second race and the Super Final to collect the red plate as series leader. The MX2 class was another Bud affair, as Maxime Desprey and young teammate Nicolas Dercourt left St Jean in first and second position in the standings; Maxime won both MX2 races and brought the first 250cc bike home in third in the Super Final, while Nicolas finished twice runner up in the MX2 races, even leading his teammate for a few laps in the first race, and then took fifth overall in the Super Final.
The next rounds of the series will take place in two weeks time in Sommières in the south east of France, and one week late Gueugnon in central France will host round three; these races will be a perfect preparation for the opening round of the European MX2 series at Arco (Italy) where Maxime and Nicolas will represent Kawasaki alongside David Herbreteau.
Xavier Boog: "It was a wet day, but also a good day for me. After bering second in the timed practice period, I didn't had such a great feeling with the track; I was leading most of the first race but struggled with arm pumped and lost the race ! I got another holeshot in the second moto and won it, and then got another win in the Super Final. I was second at the start but soon passed the leader to win with a big gap. The day ended better than it started; now we've a short break before the next two rounds in Sommières and Gueugnon.”
Maxime Desprey: "I'm happy with my results this weekend, and we'll continue to work even harder with Jacky Vimond and the team before the next round ! It was a tough weekend with the racing conditions; you had to deal with the track, the lappers and the goggles ! I won the two MX2 races and then finished third and first MX2 rider in the Super Final, so I'm leading the MX2 Elite Championship. It couldn't have started better, and I want to thanks Team Bud and the mechanics who have provided me with a very powerful bike.”
Nicolas Dercourt: "I was tense for the practice sessions on Sunday, and I only posted the third fastest time in my group but I finished twice runner up behind Maxime in the MX2 races; in the first race I passed him for the lead but he came back and won it. There was more wind and rain for the Super Final, and I struggled at the start among the 450s; I was twentieth at the start but recovered to fifth at the finish. With these results I'm second in the series behind my teammate; a big thanks to my mechanic, my family and Team Bud for their support.”
