Reigning MX2 World Champion Kay de Wolf has confirmed that he’ll be racing at the upcoming Ashbrook Hawkstone International on February 9. The 20-year-old Dutchman will use the iconic pre-season race as an important shakedown ahead of the FIM Motocross World Championship starting at Cordoba in Argentina on the weekend of March 1/2.
“Hawkstone Park is an awesome track with some nice elevation changes,” says Kay about the circuit having raced there previously winning the 125cc class in 2019. He took a double win that day and is likely to dominate the MX2 class in 2025 and potentially challenge for the win in the day-ending Superfinal in which the MX2 riders enjoy a small head start.
Other big hitters in the MX2 class include Gyan Doensen, Mathis Valin, Max Werner, David Braceras, Billy Askew, Bradley Mesters, Kasimir Hindersson, Reece Jones and Mackenzie Marshall.
The MX1 class is looking even more talent laden with world champions Romain Febvre, Maxime Renaux and Pauls Jonass heading an entry list which also features Calvin Vlaanderen, Jago Geerts, Glenn Coldenhoff, Conrad Mewse, Adam Sterry, Brent van Doninck and Roan van de Moosdijk. With the event still a month away more riders are signing up all the time.
