Life’s a Beach!
By Team TMX on 2nd Oct 15
In association with East Lindsey District Council the AMCA Skegness Beach Race on the weekend of November 7/8 is now entering its sixth year.
Having already grown into one of the largest off-road events in the UK attracting crowds well in excess of 20,000 over a single weekend, it promises to deliver a fantastic weekend of hardcore beach racing action.
The AMCA is pleased to announce that prices for the 2015 edition have been held at 2014 levels with an entry into the main adult solo race on Sunday still only £100 – this includes camping and as many spectators as you want to bring.
A double entrt for both the Saturday and Sunday is excellent value at £140.
The weekend action begins on Saturday with the Clubman race followed by the ever popular Quads and Sidecars.
Clubman and Youth entries are £75, Quad and Sidecar entries are £100.
The winner of the Sunday race will scoop up £1,000 in prize money, taken home by the likes of Milko Potisek, Nez Parker, Nathan Watson and Dan Thornhill in recent years.
Earth-moving equipment, courtesy of LPE (Lincs Plant Hire) will be brought onto the beach during the week leading up to the event and a lengthy circuit will be built to include some impressive jumps, waves, whoops, chicanes, split sections and fast natural sandy straights.
The Dunlop GP tyre fitting service will be on hand for riders looking to have tyres fitted for the event.
Skegness has become renowned for the fabulous welcome it gives to the beach race and those staying for the weekend will be able to take advantage of the Skeggy night-life.
Entry fees include hard standing car parking and free camping for one vehicle, all within seconds a short walk to the beach, pubs and restaurants, which will ensure a weekend to remember.
Preparations are already underway for the pre-event party at ‘Meany Bo-Beany's Bar', which will also host the presentations following each day's racing.
Spectating is free, but the public car parks are Council managed and seasonal charges will apply.
