Team 114 Kawasaki's Livia Lancelot holds a strong lead entering the final round of the FIM Women's World Motocross Championship at Assen in the Netherlands this weekend. We met her before this final round.

Livia, what did you do since the GP of Switzerland ?

I did mainly sport activities; I never stopped working but I didn't ride my bike so many times as I didn't want to take any risks. It would have been stupid to get injured while practising and to lost all my chances before this weekend, as I come to this final round with enough points to manage both races.

You did some training on your Kawasaki ?

Of course I went practicing on sandy tracks, but didn't push as usual and never tried to do fast laps. I didn't take any risks, and I went on some sand tracks where I was sure not to see my main rivals. For sure if Assen was the first GP of the season I would have trained more intensively.

Did you worked on the bike settings to prepare this sandy event?

No, we keep the base that we know and worked the same way as we did for all the other races. We keep in mind the experience of last year, as maybe we changed too many things to have brand new parts. We prepared for this round as we did for the first six GPs; we checked everything but didn't do more or less than usual.

Once more you come to the last GP leading the series, do you have a strategy for this weekend?

Yes, I have. I am leading the series by 27 points, instead of four, as I did last year, and that's much more comfortable. I don't want to fight with Nancy (Van De Ven) or Chiara (Fontanesi); I want to come to the gate after them, chose my starting position far from both and then if I can secure the title in the first moto I will do it of course. But I will not take any risks to beat Nancy in this first race. My goal is to get the title, nothing else.

The last round take place on a sandy track, and in the country of your main rival. Is it a disadvantage?

I'm racing against a Dutch rider, who will race at home and who rides pretty well on sandy tracks. I'm not the favourite, even if I know how to ride in the sand, but that's not a problem. This weekend my goal is not to win the race, not to be on the podium; my goal is simply to be World Champion.

Your experience will help you to manage this crucial weekend?

For sure I'm one of the most experienced women, and that's why I'm leading the series by 27 points. I didn't stressed when I was not the strongest; I managed the championship until now and I will not try to prove anything this weekend. My goal was to come to this final round with a strong lead; that's what I did and now I just need to complete the season's work.
