FOLLOWING a stunningly tough opening British Trials Championship round at Scarborough, mainly thanks to awful weather conditions, Sunday's second round in Kinlochleven, staged by Lochaber MCC, was in direct contrast with sunny, warm conditions and blue skies and a testing but eminently rideable course for all three classes.
In the main British Championship class, defending title holder James Dabill was in top form and took maximum points after three laps of 12 sections although Michael Brown looked sharp and it was only on the final lap that his pal and rival, Dibs, pulled clear with an impressive round of just four marks. Browny had only been four marks adrift of the Gas Gas rider going into that last lap but a five in the ninth put paid to his chances.
