Maxximum challenge!

THE fact that 2005 Maxxis British MX1 Motocross champion Josh Coppins was going to be using the 2006 domestic British Championship as a springboard for world domination this year was never in doubt at the beginning of this season.
The CAS Honda man was also going to have big Belgian Ken de Dycker riding shotgun for him, or so he thought, so it all looked like a plan in action.
All the usual suspects were ready to go head to head with perennial bridesmaid RWJ's James Noble heading the cast of... a fair amount, including factory Kawasaki team leader, flying Scot Stephen Sword, Wulfsport Honda's Irish legend Gordon Crockard, Welsh wizard Mark Jones and English regulars Mark Hucklebridge, Jordan Rose, Mark Eastwood and the Smyth brothers Danny and Jody, amongst some very keen and enthusiastic teenagers riding MX1 machines.
For a change, it wasn't the usual trip to the south of London to Canada Heights at Swanley, for the opening round in March, but over to a sun-drenched, ...well, bright sunshine-drenched, Cadders Hill venue near Lyng in Norfolk, hosted by the Norwich Viking MCC, to see how the plans would play out.
