Mega CCM gathering at Nostalgia bash
By TMX Archives on 18th Aug 11
This weekend will see what will be arguably the largest gathering of CCM motocross bikes ever assembled in one place at the Kendal Classic club's Nostalgia trial and scramble.
The club has taken 40 entries for Sunday's CCM race, which will all be the famous BSA-based CCMs. And on top of that there will be a further 40 of the Bolton-built models on display - including some very special ones!
Former CCM factory riders Bob Wright and Norman Barrow will be there as will Mike Barnes, the man who bought the very first CCM machine built by factory founder Alan Clews - who will also be present on Sunday. Mike's sons Keith and Tony will also be riding CCMs, Keith on a replica of Mike's original model!
The Nostalgia weekend, which takes place at Holme Farm, Middleton, near Sedbergh (signed from J36 of M6) starts on Saturday with a Classic Trial - that features 170 entries which will be followed by a Concours competition - just for CCM motorcycles.
The Nostalgia Scramble takes place on Sunday with the first race of a packed programme taking place at 11.30. The once-a-year course is compact and viewing is fantastic - you can see 90% of the track from any one place.
If you like Classic scrambling and BSA-based CCMs you won't want to miss this.
