Michelin back to sponsor The Tough One
By Team TMX on 6th Jan 16
The Tough One, the UK's most iconic and original extreme endure, is back for 2016 and once again it is proudly sponsored by leading tyre manufacturer, Michelin
The 12th edition of this gruelling and demanding event will see riders negotiate their way over man-made obstacles such as cars, tyres, logs and rocks, along with the gnarly natural terrain that the haunting Nantmawr Quarry offers.
The day promises explosive racing action with a rider line-up spanning a range of skill levels; from the Intermediate classes through to headline Pro riders from all over the world, including Enduro legend, David Knight, a rider who has proven himself as the ultimate Tough One over the years, with a total of six wins to his credit.
2016 will mark the end of an era for the Tough One in the current format, as from 2017 the venue and event structure will change.
Tough One Creator, Steve Ireland, said "I am absolutely delighted that once again, Michelin have put their name on the Tough One as an official event partner. To have the support of the such a renowned and respected brand demonstrates the size and stature that the Tough One event has earned over the years.
As the final running of the event as it is (and has been for the last 12 years) will bow out at that famous quarry. To have David Knight back for this final showdown is fantastic too as he really is the true Tough One and has made the event his own over the last decade, I wonder if he will take his 7th win? One thing is for sure, it will be a great day of extreme enduro racing and challenges."
James Dimmock, Michelin Marketing Manager, said "We're delighted to be supporting the Tough One again in 2016. We've seen an amazing response to our support for the event over the past few years. Enduro riders already know Michelin has an unrivalled range of performance tyres, but meeting the riders and Enduro fans right in the middle of the action at Nantmawr gives us an unparalleled insight into the Enduro scene - something that we're passionate about supporting.”
