The AMA announced its team for the MotocrossThe AMA announced its team for the Motocross of Nations before racing started at Unadilla on Saturday and, as expected, Ryan Dungey has declined to ride.
The reigning SX champ and runaway MX Nats leader has decided he needs a break after 17 indoor and 24 outdoor races so Justin Barcia (MX1) will be joined by 250 champ Jeremy Martin (MX2) and Cooper Webb (Open) in an all-Yamaha team managed by Roger De Coster.
"To be the team leader, I didn't think I would be saying that this year,” said Barcia who's currently second in the 450 standings with two overall wins.
"For me it's an honour to go represent the USA and it's very special. I think we're going with a very strong team – Jeremy's
great, Cooper's really good right now.
"And our bikes are definitely strong – they're rocket ships.”
Martin currently leads the 250cc series by two points from Marvin Musquin who will race MX2 for reigning champions France on home ground at Ernee on September 26-27.
Musquin, the East Coast SX title-holder, will be joined by Gautier Paulin (MX1) and Romain Febvre (Open)

"Obviously last year I struggled, breaking my foot, so I'm definitely pissed off about that.
"I'm ready to go back over there and try to bring it home for America. I want to make America proud.”
Webb, who's relatively inexperienced on a 450, picked up an ankle injury at the start of the outdoor season but has posted impressive results since returning – although he had a nightmare at Unadilla, running 18-23.
"I wish the guys the best,” added Dungey. "I want to see them take it home.
"The last three years have been hard to stand on the third or the second step. It's nice to stand on top.
"They've got a good team – those Yamahas are pretty strong out of the gate.”
The full Team GB team still hasn't been announced although Max Anstie and Shaun Simpson are both confirmed. of Nations before racing started at Unadilla on Saturday and, as expected, Ryan Dungey has declined to ride.
