Motocross Festival blasts back to Weston Super Mare!

The Weston Super Mare Pro National Festival is back for 2015 on May 30/ 31! After the immense success of last year (despite some difficult weather conditions!) there was no way we were going to miss out on bringing some two and four wheel action back to the beach this year. And in true e22 style, this year is promising to be bigger and better than ever with two-days of non-stop motorsports action right on the beach. One of Europes most high profile Motocross Championships sees the return of the infamous Whoop Loop and new for 2015, a mega beer festival and live music for Saturday nights party on the beach!
"Since the beginning of the Pro Nationals Motocross Festival just two years ago, our aim was to create an action packed family festival with a difference that's both affordable and great fun” explains event organiser, Matt Bates. "And I think we've achieved this in so many ways. We have the very best racers and Freestyle Motocross riders on the planet and an ever increasing schedule of spectacular activities that no matter which way you turn, you will be entertained from start to finish. 2015 will see our night time action increase, three separate race tracks on the beach and a guarantee that every spectator will be thrilled with the additions we're making to set this event apart from anything else in the UK – and Weston Super Mare is the ideal venue to achieve all of these goals”.
Last year some of the best Pro Motocross riders from across Europe battled through spells of sheet rain and glorious sunshine in front of thousands of excited spectators to be crowned Champion of Weston, and boy did they put on a show.
2015 will be no different (just hopefully with less rain and more sun!) as the event will see a plethora of top international riders go up against each other, alongside nurturing some up and coming talent from across the UK with our Youth classes.
If you fancy something a bit different, there will be mini-bike madness and also some four-wheel action from the Quad and buggy racing - all taking place on the beach front. The event will be enlisting the help of some of the top Freestyle Motocross riders to throw themselves from ramp to ramp 40 ft above the beach...the most jaw-dropping show of all! From the world of pedal-power there will be mountain bike trials and BMX freestylers who will also be showing off over their two-wheeled skills across the whole weekend. An overabundance of super-cool entertainment spread across just one weekend...kick-starting a summer of festivities.
If all the action inspires you to want to have a go yourself, you can head over to one of the motocross experiences where you can hop on a bike and some of our experts will be on hand to take you through the basics. This incredible weekend out for the whole family wouldn't be complete without our ever-popular Kidzone, where your little ones can meet some of their favourite TV characters. They will also be kept busy with some fun activities!
Some extra necessary requirements for the weekend come in the form of food, drink and a little retail therapy and the options this year are endless. Plenty of shops for you to browse, selling everything motorsports, alongside award winning bars and food outlets...you could eat each meal from a different place over the weekend and still not get around them all!
Then as if that wasn't enough for one weekend, Saturday night's evening action will be kicked off with the incredibly successful Head to Head Whoop Loop, where the best motocross riders are pitted against each other in short, sharp, action packed races on a track full of whoops! This nail-biting spectacular will be followed by the all-new addition to this year, a Saturday night beer festival style party. Live music and DJ's... plenty of beer and a great place to hang out!
"I am delighted that Weston seafront has been chosen once again to host this spectacular event. This ever popular event will draw thousands from across the Country so make an early start!" explains Cllr Felicity Baker, Executive member for tourism in Weston.
"In addition to this their stunt show will take place at Pier Square on the weekend of May 3/4. The rider's exploits on, and off, their bikes are truly remarkable and have to be seen to be believed. Don't take my word for it, come and see it yourselves.
