World MX2 champion, Marvin Musquin, is almost certain to miss the entire AMA Supercross season as a result of the knee injury he sustained at the recent Bercy Supercross in his native France.

An MRI scan on Friday last revealed ligament damage and the Frenchman will undergo surgery on Monday, December 6. However, after that surgery the medics say that the KTM rider will still need two-weeks rehab followed up by an intensive course of physio.

KTM North America race director, Roger DeCoster, admitted that held out little hope of Musquin, initially due to race the West Coast Lites, even being back on a bike in time to switch to the East Coast SX series in mid-February.

"I do not have an official estimate from the doctors on when Marvin should be able to come back, but I doubt he will be able to race any SX in the coming AMA series.

"I think he should wait and get 100% prepared  for the US Nationals.”
