MX Diary: Briscoe Aims High

Following on from a successful debut season in the Euro IMBA series, Edward Briscoe has set his sights on a string of podium finishes this time around.
The 23-year-old ended the 2015 series in sixth - despite having his pre-season prep wrecked by two broken wrists - and is confident he can improve.
"I know I deserve to be in the top three of this competition and I'm raring to go,” he said. "Last year was my first year for the IMBAs and it was mind-blowing. "Suddenly I was up against riders from all over Europe.
"Twelve months on I've got another year on my 450 under my belt and I'm more confident and experienced going into the IMBAs.”
With backing from Manchester Xtreme and family business EBL Group, Edward has been training hard as he chases European honours.
"I'm definitely burning the candle at both ends right now. "I'm training every day – either cycling to work on my stamina or riding to hone my bike skills.
"Last year I didn't do any preparation because I broke both wrists – I had the cast off and I was racing that weekend.
"I'm much more confident and in better physical shape than ever before.
"I started riding at the age of 12 and everything I've done since then has been about reaching this point – smashing the IMBAs.”
