Newly-crowned Pirelli British Masters Pro MX2 champ Bryan MacKenzie has signed to race for the Apico Husqvarna team in 2016.
The veteran Scot, whose Pendrich Kawasaki team fell apart this season, will partner up with Steven Clarke who has been retained by the Official Husqvarna UK MX2 team.
"I'm really pumped to be given the opportunity to be part of the Apico Husqvarna team for 2016,” says Bry.
"Looking from the outside in it looks like a really smooth operation with a tight, committed team that build fast, reliable bikes with strong support from a lot of very reputable brands.
"From the inside I already have good relationships with team personnel from years of just being at the track and one member that I have worked closely with before.
"I get to take my own mechanic too which is cool.
"I have a lot of respect for Steven so I feel I have all the hardware I need and will be comfortable with my new surroundings which is equally as important to me.
"We'll be a pretty strong MX2 team. I'm looking forward to getting started – it should be a good year.”
Team Manager Richard Clarke is happy to have Bry on board.
"Signing Bry has delighted us,” he said. "Everyone knows how hard- working and dedicated he is and we are so happy to finally have his autograph on our contract.
"We are already extremely excited to get things moving going into 2016. Our rider line-up is obviously great for us in our second year of competition and with direct factory support and Husqvarna UK fully behind us we have all the foundations we need to get the job done.”
