MX Diary: Nagl stays in Mexico as Herlings heads home

While Jeffrey Herlings returned to Europe as usual between overseas engagements, Max Nagl stayed abroad for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed his week in Mexico.
"We arrived Tuesday midday and I was able to go swimming in the hotel's own pool that evening,” he said. "On Wednesday I got two full training sessions and the second of these was real fun as the entire team went for a 45-minute run together.”
Herlings remains convinced that his solution is perfect for him.
"It was a long flight each way but I have no regrets and I still think it's the smartest thing to do.”
The MX2 series leader is also more wary on his approach to racing if he doesn't holeshot.
"Everyone is pretty excited in the first few laps. I prefer just to stay out of trouble – I've lost two titles in the last two years and a win is a win, whether it be by five seconds or one minute.”
He waited half the race quali at Leon before running down Samuele Bernardini and Pauls Jonass.
