MX Nationals heads to Lyng

Following last months series opener at Preston Docks, round two of the MX Nationals sets up camp this weekend at the Cadder Hill circuit, Lyng, Norfolk.
For a lot of the youth runners, this sandy, fast, tough and undulating Maxxis favourite will be a new experience, but for those competing in Maxxis MXY2 it's a fairly quick return visit.
Taking all four race wins in the Gaerne Small-wheel 85's, Charlie Heyman (SJP Moto Husqvarna) was the convincing round one winner. Since then however, and whilst competing at a BYN event, he's unfortunately broken a wrist. With Heyman as a likely no show for round two, Alfie Jones (the current leader in BYN) will be keen to take advantage. Jones was runner up at the Docks and he has a 10 point advantage over third placed Oliver Barr. Judd Racing's Bailey Johnston sits in series fourth.
In the Big-wheel 85's, Scottish flier Kyle McNicol was the round one kingpin. He topped the box laying down a 1-2-2-2 show as the other race wins went to Dominic Lancett (twice) and Team Green's Bobby Bruce.
Lancett and Bruce are second and third in the standings respectively and there's just 11 points covering the top three.
Others to watch out for as they endeavour to climb the championship table include, Lewis Wood, Louie Kessell, Oliver Beamish,Tom Murphy and James Hanscombe.
Team Green Kawasaki star Lewis Hall hit all four race wins in the Talon Wheels MXY2/1 division at round one.
Just a few weeks ago at the Maxxis MXY2 event he had a torrid first encounter with the Lyng circuit, he will be looking for a much better reward this time around.
Keenan Hird (Craigs Kawasaki) was Halls main threat at round one, he was also the Maxxis victor taking the series lead at Lyng recently, any repeat show would do very nicely for him.
Honda UK runner Ben Clark had his best show of the season thus far at Preston docks, he holds series third, and he's 22 points off top spot. Sitting in championship second, Hird is 18 points behind the 250F series leader Hall.
In the combined 125's (scored separate) Joel Rizzi (RFX Ktm) grabbed the round one headlines as he claimed the overall victory going 3-2-1-3. The other individual heat wins went to Rossi Beard (Putoline Husqvarna) twice, and Sam Nunn (Lings Husqvarna).
Following an opening race climb through the field to eventually grab a second place finish, Josh Peters (Cab Screens Husqvarna) was unlucky with injury in heat two at Preston Docks. He'll be in action in Norfolk but unfortunately Ike Carter (MBO Power) is ruled out with a busted wrist. Peters along with Andrew Pohlen, Ryan Thompson and Reece Martin, will all be looking to challenge the leaders.
In the Bell Expert cup races also watch out for, Jake Edey (Gear4 Ktm) as he goes in MX2 and Jed Etchells (Whites Kawasaki) as he tries his luck in MX1.
