MX Nationals makes changes as Hawkstone Park / Foxhill clash draws near
By Andrew Hill on 9th Jun 21
MX Nationals Hawkstone Park Foxhill
The organisers of the Michelin MX Nationals have released a further statement on the Hawkstone Park / Foxhill date clash.
As has already been stated, it is simply not possible for the MX Nationals to move the Hawkstone date of June 19-20, where the Saturday conflicts with the ACU's Foxhill round.
This has put riders and teams in a no-win situation. To try and ease some of the issues, the MX Nationals will, where possible, try and accommodate those riders attending Foxhill on Saturday and allow them to ride on Sunday only.
Sadly, riders will still lose championship points if they do not attend the Saturday programme. However, the MX Nationals says: "We will make it so that all riders re-qualify on Sunday."
Below is the latest MX Nationals Hawkstone Park statement in full...
As most of you know there is a clash of championships on the 19th/20th June between the MX Nationals and the Revo ACU championship.
Although this is far from ideal and certainly not something the MX Nationals wanted, it is not possible to change, so we must deal with the challenge ahead.
Firstly, It is great to see the support we have in the paddock with many riders booking in for both days at Hawkstone.
In an effort to make this situation work for as many riders as we can, we will try and accommodate those riders attending Foxhill on the Saturday and where possible allow them to ride on the Sunday only.
They will obviously lose championship points from not attending Saturdays racing, but we will make it so that all riders re-qualify on Sunday.
The schedule for the weekend will be almost identical to round one apart from a Sunday morning 10min timed session for grid positions in all classes.
There will be no sighting laps then before race one on Sunday.
This is an impossible situation so please work with us.
