Ashton Dickinson has signed with Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee for 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship racing and will make his debut this weekend at Matterley Basin.
Dickinson has been enjoying a rich vein of form this season as a privateer in the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship, which has included a moto and overall win at Canada Heights. He currently sits fourth place in the MX2 standings after four rounds.
"I am buzzing to be racing for Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee for the remainder of the season," said Dickinson in a press release. "It is always something you dream of as a kid to be on a proper team, and I am finally living it. I cannot wait to get racing. I want to thank Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee for this amazing opportunity I am ready to get to work."
Team Manager Bryan Connolly said: "I am excited to see what Ashton can do with support from the whole team! His potential has been quite clear for a couple of years now, so we will do our best to help turn that into some good results."
Dickinson will join fellow Brits Conrad Mewse and Adam Sterry in competing at GPs and the remainder of the British championship rounds.
Team Owner Roger Magee said: "Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee are delighted to welcome Ashton into the team for the remainder of the 2021 season, especially as his debut will be at this weekend's home GP. His results so far in 2021 have been very encouraging and the team looks forward to providing all the back-up necessary for him to compete at the highest level."
The team have missed a presence in MX2 this season after the serious injury to Bas Vaessen at the Culham round of the British championship. He is currently in long-term recovery after spinal damage.
