After being confirmed Enduro and Trial world champion in 2020 and collecting a series of consecutive world championship titles in recent years, Beta widens its commitment in the off-road universe. The Florentine factory is now a leader in the sector, with an ever-growing following of enthusiasts reflecting the brand's DNA.
With a past full of passion among tracks all over Europe, the debut in MXGP marks another important step in the history of the company.
The challenge has been taken up by the SDM CORSE Team, a well-established international motocross team with multiple participations in MXGP.
The experienced Belgian rider Jeremy Van Horebeek will lead the Beta-SDM Corse MX Team line-up with young Frenchman Jimmy Clochet signed up as his team-mate. Both welcome the new challenge with great enthusiasm as does SDM Team Manager, Daniele Marchese. The squad intend to defend the colours of the Tuscan factory in this new exciting adventure.
"Happy to share with you and very exited that I will join a new factory team Betamotor in MXGP for the 2021 and 2022 season," said Van Horebeek on social media. "Cant wait to get this challenge started and big thanks to SDM Corse MX to get this team together! Lets dance and thanks for all the support."
The Beta-SDM Corse MX Team will debut at the opening round of the Internazionali d'Italia on February 21 in Riola Sardo, Italy.
It's the second major announcement from Beta in the spaces of days after the signing of Briton Jonny Walker to their factory enduro team.
