Dean Ferris's knee injury fear on MXGP return

Dean Ferris's return to MXGP racing did not go to plan at Matterley Basin after a crash left the Australian with knee injury concerns.
Filling in for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP's Romain Febvre, the 28-year-old Aussie got faster as the weekend went on but his racing was brought to an abrupt end after being forced to retire after going down at the start of moto two.
Ferris fears a knee injury and will be examined by medical professionals before the next round of the FIM Motocross World Championship will take place in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, on the weekend of March 30/31.
"It was a tough weekend, but I got more comfortable in every session," said Ferris. "I thought the last 15 minutes of the race I found my groove and had some really good lap-times, so I was content with that. In moto two, I went down on the start and I have hurt my knee, so that will need to be assessed."
