The Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing MX2 pilot now feels ready to start racing himself to full fitness following several weeks sidelined with a fractured metacarpal after a car collided with him while out on the road doing a recovery cycle.
"We are excited to go racing this weekend," exclaimed team manager Rasmus Jorgensen. "It will be great to have Kay on track again, as well as Maxime [Grau] in EMX250. This is a little earlier than we first planned, so we will take it day by day and focus on building back to full fitness."
During the first half of the season, the 17-year-old Dutch star podiumed twice (Mantova and Trentino) and still holds a top-10 position in the standings despite missing three rounds through injury.
The Husqvarna squad will also welcome Maxime Grau back to the EMX250 series at Teutschenthal. Grau missed the first half of the season to recover from the Epstein-Barr Virus.
