MXGP St Jean d'Angely: rumours of issues at French track quashed
By Andrew Hill on 18th Aug 22
Moto Club Angrien and the organisers of the MXGP of Charente Maritime (St Jean d'Angely) have quickly moved to quash rumours of any issue for this weekend's FIM Motocross World Championship round in France.
A statement said: "Following some rumours, we are pleased to confirm that the MXGP of St Jean dAngely will take place this weekend.
"The track is ready, the teams are there, and this afternoon the club received the official authorisation from the prefecture.
"Concerning the watering of the track, the club has its own reserve of 300,000 litres of water."
The famous French circuit has been part of the world series since 1984 and has a wealth of moto history, including a GP win for Britain's Dave Thorpe and the 2000 Motocross des Nations when the winning USA team featured Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Hughes and Travis Pastrana.
Images (below) taken at the circuit show the track is in good shape.
