Team GB's Dean Wilson talks MXoN RedBud - 'I'm in a good spot'
By Team TMX on 21st Sep 22
Set to return to the Motocross of Nations for the first time in five years, Dean Wilson will lead Great Britain into RedBud wearing the #7 jersey in the MXGP class.
Wilson's participation marks the sixth time he has flown the Union Jack at the race. Great Britain has finished third for the past four editions of the MXoN, including one year ago, where they were just a single point from The Netherlands in second. They'll be hoping for similar success with Wilson at the helm in the USA the home for most of his racing career.
The Scotsman, who turns 31 at the end of 2022, has had this year's Motocross of Nations circled on his calendar for some time. "I am looking forward to riding for Team Great Britain at the Motocross of Nations again," said Wilson.
"The team has had some good finishes recently, so hopefully, we can continue that streak at RedBud.
"We kept improving at the end of the Pro Motocross series, so I feel like I am in a good spot."
Partnering Wilson in Team GB are Tommy Searle (#9), competing in the Open category and Max Anstie (#8), who last raced MX2 on the world stage in 2016.
Activities start at the picturesque circuit of RedBud in the United States on Friday, September 23, with a pre-race press conference and team introduction that will give fans a chance to catch a glimpse of the riders. The riders will hit the track for the first time on Saturday morning.
