USA Ok! GP is in OK hands

Following years of animosity, Youthstream and AMA promoter MX Sports Pro Racing have buried the hatchet and agreed a deal that will safeguard the MXGP of the USA.
The new long-term partnership was announced on Saturday at the Daytona Supercross by Youthstream Vice President David Luongo and MX Sports Pro Racing President Davey Coombs.After the original 2017 venue at Charlotte was withdrawn following a change of ownership the future looked bleak for MXGP events in America but the deal has paved the way for a fresh collaboration.
"Bringing Youthstream and MX Sports Pro Racing together for the USGP will ensure that event enjoys continued success and becomes a fixture on the global racing calendar,” said Luongo.
"No-one knows the sport of motocross and its illustrious history in American better than the Coombs family and that expertise will help to make the USGP a new motocross tradition for fans to celebrate, bringing the planet's best riders together in one place for a true showcase of this incredible sport.”
The 2017 MXGP of the USA is expected to be held at Gainsville, Florida.
It was also decided the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will be held in the United States in 2018, most likely at the historic Red Bud circuit in Michigan.
"Since the final chequered flag flew at Ironman Raceway last August MX Sports Pro Racing has diligently worked to enhance the scope of American motocross
for 2017 and beyond,” said Coombs.
"Welcoming a new strategic relationship with Youthstream presents an exciting opportunity to create some unity between MXGP and American motocross, enhancing the presence of both the USGP and the Motocross of Nations by showcasing the sport's true international scope.”
