FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 17 June 2009 The FIM Motocross World Championship continues after a week break and round nine of 15 will be at Teutschenthal, Germany, this weekend.

Home rider Max Nagl is confident as he enters Teutschenthal after adominant win at Ernee, where he took both heats and managed to placehimself into third in the MX1 Championship – behind leader Cairoli anddefending Champion Philippaerts.

German young gun Roczen, who entered the MX2 series only at Agueda, looked already capable of winning a moto as the crowd looks forward toa possible home success of the 15 year old. Though Musquin has an evenstronger lead in the Championship after the home win at Ernee.

Opening up his winning account at Ernee, Red Bull KTM FactoryRacing's Max Nagl improved his position in the Championship standingsdramatically as he moved from seventh to third. Nagl, who will meet alot of his fans at a special Fan Camp based in the venue ofTeutschenthal, is only 43 points away from red plate holder Cairoli and13 from runner up Philippaerts.

The latter has been finishing on the podium three times in the lastthree GP's and he started to close in on Cairoli. The Yamaha MonsterEnergy Motocross man, who took his maiden MX1 GP here at the Talkesselin 2007, was fourth in Germany last year while his team mate Coppinswon the overall. The Kiwi does need a strong result to open up a safegap from Desalle as the duo now rounds off the top five with just onepoint in between them.

Yamaha Red Bull De Carli's Cairoli leads the Championship sinceTurkey and consistently mounted on the podium since then, missing onlyGreat Britain due to a heavy crash in the qualifying race. The weekbreak which followed Ernee should have handed the Italian hisconfidence and fitness back in time for the German GP, where the twotime World Champion was second in last year's MX2 podium finishinglevel in points with overall winner and eventual MX2 World ChampionRattray.

A broken footpeg in Ernee's final moto took Teka Suzuki World MX1'sDe Dycker off the podium with the Belgian dropping down to sixth in theseries. Looking back at Teutschenthal 2008 De Dycker was second on thepodium ahead of Tanel Leok, who is now seventh in the Championship.

Teutschenthal will be the last chance to see multiple World ChampionPichon onboard the Martin Honda machine, which he used from the BritishGP to replace Strijbos – the latter is due to comeback for his home GPat Lommel in August.

Mounting on the factory KTM at Mallory Park to win two moto'sstraight away, Marvin Musquin took other two at home in France andbuilt again on his Championship lead. Runner up Gautier Paulin ofKawasaki Bud Racing PSM has a 34 point gap to close if he wants to takeback the red plate which he lost in Catalunya for the first time sinceFaenza's season opener.

At their debut season in 2008, Musquin was eighth overall atTeutschenthal while Paulin missed the event and the remainder of theseason due to a broken collarbone first and then to a broken lefttibia.

Third in the Championship Guarneri picked up just two points last yearin Germany which is something he desperately needs to avoid if he wantsto remain longer inside the top three. The Yamaha Monster Energy RicciMotocross racer is pressured by a hungry Goncalves behind in fourthwith the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Portuguese being just 13 pointsadrift.

Someone who is likely to make his move in Teutschenthal is CLS'Frenchman Frossard, who collected his maiden career podium last year onthe German race track with third overall. Frossard currently rounds offthe top five whose riders are spread in just 79 points.

Sitting down in tenth is an impressive Ken Roczen, who entered theChampionship only at Portugal (11 days after he reached the age of 15)but has already made up a significant amount of points. The youngsterof the Germany based Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 team will be pumpedfor his home event where he will try to win his first career moto afterhe missed out on that goal twice already to finish second (moto two ofthe Catalan GP and moto two of the French GP).

Also French duo Larrieu and Boissiere, both on Ernee's rostrum, will be in for a podium this weekend.
