The Scott Amateur Nationals signs off at Pontrilas this weekend (September 19/20) and with five of the seven titles still to be decided its set to be an adrenalin-filled two days at one of the countrys top tracks.
With James Lassu and Lewis Meadows already assured of the titles in MX1 and MX2, focus shifts for round eight to the remaining classes which have been fiercely-fought all season.
Ty Kellett and Luke Gidney have gone at it pretty much all year in the Open Two-stroke class with Ty gradually pulling away in the second half of the season to lead by 94 points.
With five races over the weekend there's a maximum of 200-points up for grabs so Luke's still in with a shot of taking the title along with Harry Bradley and Olly Jones.
The closest racing this season has consistently come in the 125cc class. Jimmy Margetson has impressed since the opening round at FatCat in March and heads to Pontrilas with a 15-point lead over Tim Gardham.
Tim actually snatched the series lead at round six at Mildenhall but a strong third at Farleigh was good enough for Jimmy to move back to the front with a 15-point advantage.
Drew Roe is in third and will be more concerned with defending his position from Alex Butler than advancing further up the table at this late stage.
Tanisha Thomas looks a safe bet in the Ladies class with a 74-point lead from Nieve Holmes.
Stacey Fisher is without doubt the fastest female in the series but the Manchester woman sits third in the table – one point behind Nieve – after missing a round and scoring a DNF at Farleigh.
It's also pretty much a done deal in the Junior Open class where Thomas Card leads Mitch Gregory by 102 points. The second-placed man is capable of beating Thomas in a moto as he's proved on a number of occasions this season but he's never finished above him in an event overall.
Brandon Rollin dominated at the opening round of the series before Thomas and Mitchell picked up the pace and sits third in the table just three points in front of Callum Hirst.
The final class to be decided is the Veterans but as long as Brian Wheeler makes it to the start at Pontrilas it's a foregone conclusion.
Brian's failed to win just one race he's started this season – and that was down to a puncture at Dean Moor – and leads Paul Coward by 40 points.
