No mercy from Josh

ON a Wilden Lane course that was in prime condition and prepped to near perfection, the second round of this year's Moto Goo Championship was yet another rattling good affair as Josh Spinks turned the tables on last week's winner, James Lassu, in the showcase adult races. The first guys out on the course were the Junior 65cc runners. David Keet made the long trip from Portsmouth well worth his while as he totally dominated, calling the shots in all three encounters. Dan Knight managed to get his wheels in front briefly on a couple of occasions but soon found himself chasing the Pompey flier. Mitchell Warhurst claimed the third step on the podium by returning three solid third place finishes. And last week's winner, Todd Richie, came home in fourth, helped out by carding a good opening race second place result.
Liam Knight went one place better than younger brother, Dan, running away with the Small-wheel 85cc division. In a commanding performance, Liam never looked like being caught, let alone beaten, as he lead through virtually every turn in all three races. Chubby Hammond put in a spirited set of rides to eventually claim second spot in a good little points tussle with Suzuki-mounted Robert Yates.
In the Big-wheel 85cc category, the new ACU academy member, Ryan Houghton, was a clear and emphatic winner, riding well within his comfort zone. Even with the handicap of a badly bruised leg, he made light work of polishing off the opposition. Ben Howell proved to be the best of the chasers, posting two tidy second-place finishes. Battling it out behind Ryan and Ben, Alex Harvey saved his best ride of the day until the very last moto, just managing to out-point Sam Wragg for the second place in the process. Callum Sloman, Sunny Oliver and Jordan Wills also caught the eye with some rapid laps but all three boys were well out of luck along with Ben Howell when it came to putting a full card of results together.
