RUNNER-UP to Jack Price on round one at Dartmoor, Dan Peace comprehensively scooped the South Shropshire MCC's headlines when he so easily won round two in the C class high on the Longmynd area of the county on Saturday, losing his one solitary mark on the tough section ten of the 12-section course on his first of three laps, relatively far ahead of Price who recorded two on lap one, added his only failure on section three on his second lap where he, Billy Bolt and Peace were the only three riders in the class to record clean rides on any laps.
The rest seemed quite amazed that Peace made the hazard look so easy, as Price ended his day eight in arrears, but level at the top into round three.

Runner-up to Iwan Roberts in the 2008 championship, Billy Bolt ended his day four behind Peace after a disastrous first lap where he recorded 13 of his final total of 14 marks.
Bolt added one on lap two and easily cleaned lap three to leave host club member, Thomas Minta, far behind but well clear of James Hayhurst and Matt Whelan who were one mark apart in that order in fifth and sixth places.
Keeping the Peace name in the headlines, Jack Peace matched brother Dan with a superb win over round one winner, Toby Martyn, in the D class, adding totals of four, four and three far ahead of Martyn.
Martyn failed to
master the tricky course, recording double digit scores on every lap, but eventually far ahead of the hard-working Kade Edwards, who at least beat the rest of the class who went over the dreaded ton.
Best of the six entry Small-wheel D class, Joe Faunthorpe ended lap one a single mark behind Ben Teasdale, on a total of 15, but improved with six and five scores on his second and third circuits to eventually win top points, four ahead of Teasdale.
Teasdale finished ten clear of round one winner Zak Collinson, who somehow managed to throw away 22 marks, (four short of the winner's total on lap one), but is now level in the points table at the top with Faunthorpe, just one ahead of consistent runner-up Teasdale, who will pounce on any mistakes before the end of the six-round championship.
