STEPHEN Sword was a non-starter at Valence. After further treatment on his right ankle last week, the Scot is not yet back on a bike.
After destroying his right ankle in a major get off from his factory De Groot Kawasaki in May last season during the German GP at Teutschenthal, Swordy has been in recovery which included bone grafts and mighty doses of antibiotics to kill infections in the bones as they healed.
However, six weeks ago Swordy developed Tonsillitis and the infection also attacked his already deficient immune system and led to another infection in his ankle.
He spent three days in a Belgian clinic having fluid drained from his ankle and having a course of more antibiotics.
