Quad Stuff: Sinclair lands ACU 250 title

For the first time in five years a Scot has won a British quad racing title.
And he's a young one! Aged only 15, Lorne Sinclair from Connel in Argyll won the ACU 250cc British Championship on his first attempt.
He clinched the title this weekend at Culham in Oxfordshire with a convincing three-moto victory in the final round of the championship.
Sinclair has battled hard all season, swapping points and places with Ayrton Knowles and Jack Norris.
Race after race these three youth riders, along with Oli Martin and Harry Carmichael have created a spectacle worthy of the title they were racing for, demonstrating skill, stamina and speed in equal measure.
Going into the final round, the unassuming young Scot seemed to be unperturbed by the challenge ahead. "What will be, will be”, he quipped, as he headed for the start line at Culham.
His chief mechanic Stephen Cain, of UK Bling Bars, who has prepared his bike all season, wasn't quite so calm. A gremlin had crept in during the final round of the Scottish Championship the previous weekend, causing the Honda CRF250 to randomly refuse to start, and despite fixing it, "Bling” had a week of sleepless nights!
The last time Scotland could boast a British Champ was in 2011 with John Mitchell, the year before Lorne Sinclair even started quad racing. He showed promise then too, taking second overall in the 250 cc Standard class of the 2012 Scottish series run by Quad Racing Scotland.
Lorne follows in the footsteps of his elder brother Scott Sinclair who was runner up to Scottish Champion Connor Smith in his last season in 2013.
This year the nine-round British Championship was played out on tracks across Southern England, giving Sinclair and his family an average 1000 mile road trip most weekends.
Commenting on his title win, the young champ said: "It's been one heck of a year. I'm glad that all the hard work, time and effort paid off. Huge thanks to Stephen Bling Cain for looking after the bike through the season. Really thankful to have a dad who lets me do it all. I'm really happy it's paid off.”
His dad's response – simply: "Karma”.
