Motocross

Two brilliant qualifying races on the sandy GP track in Holland and this week the weather that was hot and humid with rain showers.

In group A Hermans/Musset took the holeshot, with Giraud/Haller second from Dierckens/Bax with Bax/Stupelis fourth, with J Brown/Millard just behind.

The battle was on for the lead with Bax/Stupelis blasting into second and fought hard but couldnt find a way past the leaders. Giraud/Haller battled with Dierckens/Bax for third with J Brown/Millard battling past both to take third on the last lap, Dierckens/Bax took fourth from Giraud/Haller in fifth. Wilkinson/Humphrey had a slower start but fought hard to take a great sixth.

Hodges/Grahame were holding a save qualifying position but over jumped and landed badly with passenger Scott suffering a broken leg.

In group B Sanders and stand in passenger Kenny Van Gaalen took the holeshot from Heinzer/Betschart with Brown/Chamberlain third, but they had problems when out of sight in the woods and dropped back outside the top 10. At the front Heinzer/Betschart fought past to take the lead with but they also had problems in the woods and reappeared back in fifth. This left Sanders/Van Gaalen to regain the lead.

Vanluchene/Van Den Bogaart had a slow start but quickly fought through to tuck into second and battle hard to try and take the lead, but couldnt find a way past. The downpour of rain in the final few laps really didnt help to make passing any easier.

Varik/Daiders held third just ahead of Van Wernen/Beunk, with Brown/Chamberlain fighting back to fifth. Kinge/Gray were just behind but tipped and stalled the bike, they quickly got going and easily qualified.

Foden/Bijenhof were going well but finished just outside the top 12, they still qualified in the last chance races.

So five British teams qualified for the GP races tomorrow, with overnight rain and a cooler day forecast, it will be interesting racing.

Keep watching our updates for the GP results and race report later.
