Rhayader Evening Motocross 2023
By Team TMX on 25th May 23
The stunning Cwmythig Hill circuit at St. Harmon – just outside Rhayader in Mid Wales – will reverberate with the sound of motocross machines on the evening of May 31 as the ever-popular Rhayader MCC Wednesday Evening PAR Homes/Bodenham Enterprise Park/Steve Rowlands & Sons sponsored Welsh Open Motocross Championship returns.
And there’s a brilliant international entry taking part with current British Champions Tommy Searle and Conrad Mewse, Estonia’s Harri Kullas, Scotsman Shaun Simpson and last year’s winner Welshman Adam Sterry all set to battle it out for top honours on the revamped circuit which is well known for providing top-class action. Also staring in this fantastic lineup are Dan Thornhill, Calum Mitchell and fan favourite John Adamson along with local ace Alex Walton. With so many quality riders, the big question is who will take home the huge amount of prize money on offer?
Practice starts at 5.45pm and then the first race leaves the line at 6.30pm. There’s a slickly run 10-race programme, three races per group, Pro/Experts, Clubman/Veterans and Novices/Ladies/Beginners, with the popular Grand Final Dash for the Cash race at the end of the evening for the top Pro/Experts on the night.
The circuit, virtually the whole of which can be seen from any one vantage point, also has a full trackside public address system, keeping the large crowds informed (4,000 spectators turned out for the event last year) will be top motocross commentators Chris Czora and Leah Yarranton.
As well as the 10 races, there are trade stands, good catering facilities, a licensed bar, a tarmac drive into the circuit with excellent hard parking and permanent toilets – everything, in fact, for the family to enjoy a good night's entertainment.
Entry is just £10.00 for adults while children under 14 are free. Cwmythig Hill will be well-signposted from Rhayader.
Spectator Tickets can be bought at the gate but it’s cash only!
Wednesday Evening May 31 is the date – make sure you are there!
