Riga, 10th October 2009: For the first time after the IFMXF summer break the worlds best Freestyle Motocross riders met again for this years FIM Freestyle MX World Championships.

Playground for the 8th contest was the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Riga. In a most amazing fight X Games participant André Villa did not even made into the final. Both French riders ruled the field of riders and took the first two places ahead of Jose Miralles from Spain.

11 riders out of 8 nations fought in the qualification to reach the final. All of the Germans around Hannes Ackermann, Freddy Peters and Fabian Bauersachs missed that. Best position went to Bauersachs on 7th. Alexey Koleshnikov, debuting on the IFMXF track in Riga made a strong run with hard tricks and Flip combos. But he could not the reach the final also. This years X Games participant André Villa, who returned to the NIGHT of the JUMPs, had some problems at the landing of his 3rd trick. He went on riding but missed a lot of points and ended up on 8th position. So Massimo Bianconcini, Brice Izzo, Libor Podmol, Jose Miralles, Remi Bizouard and Brody Wilson made it into the final.

For the final all of the riders pushed the level even higher. The comeback of Massimo Bianconcini to the IFMXF track was amazing after his horror crash at Mannheim. He did all his hard tricks and reached 6th position. Also Czech Libor Podmol returned on his bike just a week ago, but did Super- and Switchblade flips already. Brody Wilson did his entire trick repertoire with a bonus Tsunami flip in the double up. But even this was only enough for the 4th place today. Miralles, Bizouard and Izzo fought for the positions onto the podium. The Spanish guy did his well-known spectacular program. But contrary to Miralles both French riders had a new trick in his run. Brice Izzo did a Tsunami Flip Indy and Remi Bizouard a Superman Seatgrab Flip. Finally the current World Champion took the win.
