SCHOOL'S out next weekend when the first round of the 2009 Elite Youth Cup kicks-off down at Landrake Moto Parc, in Cornwall, on Saturday April 18/19. This series continues to grow and this year looks no different as the ever eager kids of Youth motocross sign-up along with new series sponsors Red Bull in an effort to take Youth motocross to the next level in the UK through the MC Federation.

The new eight round series will visit venues the length and breadth of the country as the quest to become a Red Bull Elite Youth Cup champion intensifies, but for now it's all systems go for Landrake which is also incorporated into the opening round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals, making it an awesome weekend of races.
Changes have been made to the classes in this year's championship to help progress riders further and make the transition from Youth to Adult racing a little easier.
The Elite Rookie (formally the Senior) and Open class riders are now eligible to race a 250cc two-stroke machine if they wish as the MCF simply put a 250cc limit on those classes.
This may help some riders learn the ropes of the adult racing scene a little easier and also give them the chance to race the ever popular Fuchs-Silkolene British Two-stroke championship.
Riders of the Elite Open classes also get the opportunity to ride in the Red Bull Pro Nationals, as they'll have their championship races on the Saturday and then will be eligible to race with some of their heroes on the Sunday if they wish.
In the series itself it's all to play for. Some of last year's Elite Youth Cup Champions will be moving up a class this time around, so there will definitely be new champions crowned. 2008 65cc champion, Ben Green moves up to the Small-wheels class, James Dunn will be looking to claim the 2009 Big-wheel title, whilst last year's Big-wheel champion, Luke Hawkins, is now showing his talents on the 250F and will desperately want to stamp his authority ob the Rookies class.
Also 2008 Senior champion Christian Taylor steps into the Adult scene alongside Scott Elderfield. In fact every class right the way through is for the taking!
The Youth MX scene is changing so get yourself to Landrake for a fantastic weekend. Practice gets under way at 9am with the first race at 11am.
Admission price: £10, Children under 16 go free.
