SHERCO launched their 2008 range of two-stroke (250 and 290) and four-stroke (320) trials machines on stage at Hawkstone Park last Saturday (see page 12) with a very successful stage presentation, before a several thousand-strong enthusiastic crowd, which was professionally hosted by Rhoda Rathmell.
The main obvious change over the current range ofBarcelona-built machines is to the aesthetics with the two-strokes andfour-strokes now sporting their own distinct colour schemes. Bothemploy a tasteful white, black and grey theme with the two-strokesfeaturing the traditional Sherco blue flashes of colour while thefour-stroke now sports distinctive red detailing.
The main visible mechanical change is a surpriseswitch to Ceriani front suspension, which features Kevlar protectionfor the outer tubes and 38mm anti-friction coated stantions. The rearOlle-supplied shock absorber employs new settings and bump-stop rubber.
The engines (both are Euro 3 compliant) make fulluse of completely new engine management electronics with manualtwo-setting option operated by a simple handlebar-mounted switch.
Other detail changes include a new aluminium side stand and a fully-enclosing front disc shield.
It is expected that the first batch of 2008 spec Shercos will land at your local dealer as early as the first week in September!
