Stefan Everts to have further surgery as he continues to suffer serious effects of Malaria
By Team TMX on 3rd Apr 19
A new health update for Stefan Everts came out today and it's not good news.
Stefan Everts contracted Malaria late last year while at a charity fundraising event and has been in a tough ongoing battle ever since.
Note 29/04/19: Everts update - could face another amputation
Just last month Everts had to have a toe amputated and now, according to reports from Europe, the 10-time world champion will undergo another surgery next week.
Stefan will once again watch his son Liam race this weekend at Trentino and then return to hospital where he will have the tips of more toes removed.
Everts contracted Malaria while visiting the Democratic Republic of the Congo in November 2018 and was treated in an Intensive Care Unit at a Belgian hospital.
We'll update here on Dirt Bike Rider when we hear more.
As always we offer Stefan our best wishes in his recovery.
