Yesterday at the infamous Addingham Moorside venue Steve Colley, Team JST GAS GAS UK won the fourth round of BTC.With no mistakes all day Steve beat the current Champion, Graham Jarvis by 3 marks.
This win for Steve was fully deserved as his level of focus was 100% yesterday and he thoroughly deserved the win. He proved that there is still life in him yet at this level and just showed his younger rivals that hes not done yet!
All of Steves immediate rivals use this venue reguarly for practice so we knew to win here would be very difficult, but with Graham suffering four 'fives', Shaun Morris (Team JST GAS GAS UK) having a nightmare first lap and James Dabil abit off form all day, the wins was Steves and it was a pleasure working for him yesterday.
In this years BTC, each rider can drop their worst round so with a quick calculation Steve now closes the gap on Graham a little in the Championship Standings to 5 points with 3 rounds to go.
Shaun Morris is now 3rd a futher 2 points behind Steve with Dabil in 4th and Browny 5th.
Dan Thorpe (Team JST GAS GAS UK) missed out on the Expert Class win by a tie-break decision with Joe Baker (Scorpa).
Both riders dropped 17 marks and Joe pipped Dan with most cleans. Fair play to Joe and Congratulatons!
Chris Pearson and Lee Sampson (Sherco) were 3rd and 4th with Sam Haslam (Team JST GAS GAS UK) in a disappointing 5th.
I'm sure that now Sam has decided to stay on his 280cc full time now instead of changing to the 125 for European Trials i'm sure that his results will become more consistant. People forget that Sam is still only 17 and is his first year of adult Trials!
DT now leads the Championship with a 5 point lead over Boe Jaker in 2nd.
As expected Alexz Wigg (Team JST GAS GAS UK) won the Youth Class from fellow GG Teamster Ross Danby.
Alexz would have again won the Expert Class dropping 14 marks to Joe Bakers 17. Also, Ross would have been 4th on 20!
Alexz and Ross are certainly riding well at the moment and its good to see some young British talent coming through, especially when they ride GAS GAS!
WELLDONE TO YOU ALL!
