This superb-looking BSA is the property of Scottish classic rider Bryan Aird.
Bryan's bought this bike more than three years ago but it was not in the superb condition that you see now. When he first purchased the bike it was basically just a standard BSA with an A65 swing-arm standard forks with a Gremica rear wheel and hub and a standard BSA front wheel and hub.
After a complete strip down and re-build many parts on this bike were then re-furbished or replaced with new.
The motor was completely dismantled and the barrel re-bored with all the associated piston, rings etc replaced with new items. The gearbox was also re-furbished with new bearings and an uprated N.E.B splined main shaft. The original ignition system was replaced with an Electrex modern unit, and a new Amal Concentric carburettor was fitted to feed the fuel.
A new set of Marzocchi front forks were then installed to the newly painted frame along with a replacement CZ front wheel. A new Terry Weedy swing-arm and a new set of "Rock Shocks” were then fitted to the rear of the frame, along with another CZ rear wheel.
Bryan did all the shot blasting and painting on the bike himself as this is his normal 9 to 5 day job. Dad Alistair who is no stranger to knowing his way around an older 1960's piece of vintage iron dealt with all the mechanical issues of the build.
Since the machine was completed the bike has been very reliable and has furnished Bryan with some decent results on the racetrack this year competing at many Scottish classic and English off-road events
