Take a look - Eric Bracewell's Kawasaki
By Team TMX on 29th Oct 16
This weeks featured machine is Irishman Eric Bracewells 1992 KX 500 Kawasaki Evolution.
This was one of three similar machines that were imported into the UK by "Doc Wob Imports” who supplied the bikes for the American team at the Vet's MXDN event at Farleigh Castle in 2013.
This specific bike now competes in the Irish Evolution championship's and is currently raced by legendary rider Willie Burgess, who they tell me has yet to be beaten on the track on it in 2016.
When all three bikes arrived in the UK they were completely stripped down to the frame of every nut and bolt and then rebuilt to make them better than new for their new American Evolution team of Jeff Ward, Doug Dubach and the legendary John Dowd.
The engines were also dismantled right down to the cranks and then re-assembled with brand-new parts.
This bike still has the factory front caliper, alloy GMX petrol tank, works connection clutch perch and frame guards, Pro Circuit pipe and silencer.
Other parts fitted include the Venhill brake cables and hoses and BRP
front-fork triple clamps, and chain guide.
Some of you may think that this bike looks quite familiar and that is probably because this was the very machine American legend John "The Junkyard Dog” Dowd rode to four wins from four starts at the very same event at Farleigh Castle during that 2013 weekend.
Eric says he hopes to get the bike to some events in mainland UK in 2017 and the big target is to have the bike back on the start-line for next year's Vet's MXDN event at Farleigh Castle.
