Take a look: Ex-Kees Van der Ven KTM
By Team TMX on 9th Feb 18
This is the actual 1990 works KTM that Kees van der Ven finished his time with KTM on.
By this time, although still looking very production based compared to the Jap factory bikes of this era, KTM were starting to up their game. This 1990 bike had a one-off handmade swing arm and the later style rear linkage that did not see the production bike for another two years!

You can also see the different pipe mounts as many different exhausts were being tested, including the later low-boy pipe that also saw production a bit later on.
This bike was pulled apart straight after the Lierop round back in 1990 and stayed in boxes under a bench in Holland until owner, Mark Gessey, was lucky enough to have the chance of buying it a while back.

Mark simply reassembled it with no restoration whatsoever. Many parts are as new still and it is exactly as it was 28 years ago! This bike will be displayed at the Telford Off-road Show so get yourself along and have a look at Marks KTM collection.

I’m genuinely excited about the weekend ahead as two 200-mile trips – or 220-miles if I’m claiming my travelling expenses at a massive 11 pence per mile or whatever it is this month – will deliver two supreme slices of off-road action direct to my retinas albeit through the lens of my Canon.
