Motocross Take A Look

Here are some before and after pictures of Peter Welchs latest restoration of a 1982 Husqvarna CR 250.It was bought from Andy Elliott at HVA and has been restored back to pretty much original condition bar the footpegs!

Finished in only in the last few weeks and it wasnt his original intention he decided to use number seven as that was Hakan Carlqvists number during his successful world championship campaign in 1979. He was one of Peters great heroes.

Peter ofter describes himself as a Meccano mechanic he can take things apart and put them back together but when it starts getting complicated he has to rely on others! There is a fantastic network of people he has used, too numerous to mention, but Andy and Charlie Preston at Husqvarna Vintage are the backbone for any twin-shock Husqvarna enthusiast.

Perry Leask at HM Racing in Edenbridge restored both the front and rear suspension. It has made its debut at Golding Barn in Sussex and will be ridden hard for as long as Peter can.

Peter and his brother Andy used to race until 1981 when they retired at 19 and 21 respectively. They raced with North West schoolboys and they always rode Husqvarna.

Peter started riding again in 2005 but no racing, just practice at Golding Barn in Sussex run brilliantly by Dan and Steve Beamish. Peters dad Charles also raced in the 1950s.
