Take a look: Steve Powell's Honda CR500
By Team TMX on 25th Jan 17
We have had this awesome 1985 Honda CR500 sent in by Steve Powell. Steve describes in his own words how this project has taken shape.
We'll I've had this on the go for the past 25-years. When I bought it, it was in a state and was very difficult to start so I fixed it up a little just to ride on a old quarry.
"Over the years I spent a bit more money on it and started to race it.
"Two years ago I decided to restore her to near original condition but as Honda had discontinued a lot of parts I spent more time getting parts than building the bike.
"I had most bits made one off and the rest done at TRM racing and Dave Silver Honda.
"Every single component has been replaced or rebuilt, the original parts are only the frame, sub frame, forks, swinging arm, engine plastics and a few other little bits.
"As you can see I also spent a lot of time with the little stuff just to set it off and went with the original colours for a 1985 CR500.
"I also spent a bit of time with Mark at RSS Suspension just to set it up for my weight and riding style.
"And also my close friend Dan at MX Experience helped me get the project finished.”
