THE small but mega enthusiastic TM factory in Italy is busy finalising its 2009 Motocross and Enduro models when, once again, the range will feature highly competitive two-stroke and four-stroke racers.
T+MX is pleased to pass on the news that TM is currently working on several new, exciting projects and have invested heavily in cutting-edge technology in all areas of design, tooling and manufacture. TM has pledged its continuance of further developing and producing its excellent two-stroke models and express confidence that the ‘humble' two-stroke still has a vital role to play in the future of the sport. The company will, at the same time, be full steam ahead with its highly competitive and covetable four-stroke range.
We'll give you the full run-down on all the models just as soon as we have all the details but meantime we are proud to give you just a taste of what's to come with the 2009 Italian beauties with a sneak preview of the awesome EN144 two-stroke enduro challenger and mighty MX450F moto-cross flyer. TM has just celebrated its 30th anniversary as a motorcycle manufacturer and is particularly proud of the fact that it has designed, manufactured and assembled the all-new aluminium chassis in-house, which form the basis of the 2009 models.
There is a full list changes to all models which include new headlight, tail-light, decals and seat covers on all the Enduro models.
These will compliment a revised aluminium chassis which features changes to the material density for better dynamics and balance. New rad protectors, rear wheel hub and a revised silencer for the four-stroke MX models make for fully updated and uprated machines.
The TM engines, both two-stroke and four-stroke, have been given a trip through the development bay and the two-strokes now sport new CDI with two-position ignition maps that can be switched by a handebar-mounted control. All two-strokes receive new port timing, the 125 and 300 models get new pistons while the 144 gets a re-designed combustion chamber. The 125 and 144 strokers are also fitted-up with stronger con-rods.
Meanwhile the 450cc four-stroke motors receive, amongst other mods, a longer con-rod and a re-designed piston plus new inlet and exhaust camshafts.
There's plenty going on at TM and T+MX will keep you in touch with more pics and info as it arrives!
