IT was a case of all roads lead to Stoneleigh Park' last week when the annual Dirt Bike Show the 2010 International Dirt Bike Show to give it its full title was staged once again at the National Agricultural Centre (NAC) near Coventry.
And once again show-goers were treated to a mix of new bikes and new gear for you to look at and play with, plus a lively retail hall where all manner of off-road stuff was up for sale, plus the all-action freestyle minibikers and stunt riders in the live arena, the MTB pedallers outside, plus lots of other stuff going on like the superb fashion shows on the DBR stage mixed-in with competitions, interviews with Paul Malin and even songs from the talented, trials riding, X-Factoring Katy Bullock.
It was busy on all four days of the Dirt Bike Show, which ran from Thursday through Sunday last week, and the massed ranks of off-road traders were certainly busy in the packed retail hall where you could buy anything from a crash helmet to a remote control helicopter!
There was also an impressive display of race homes where you could indulge in either your fantasy or reality – depending on the size of your wallet. Depending on which day you visited there were different riders putting in an appearance including David Knight, Tommy Searle, Brad Anderson, Stephen Sword, Tom Church, James Dabill, Michael Brown, Tom Sagar, Mel Pocock, Lee Edmondson and many more.
The organisers had done their best to ensure a good day could be had by everyone with the number of events and activities on the go. New this year were Youth enduro races on Saturday and Sunday and although the track had to be modified after heavy rain it proved to be a popular new feature for riders and spectators.
The Dirt Bike Show brings many aspects of off-road together for the only time of the year and plenty of trade personalities were spotted doing business, chatting to show-goers, riders and rivals alike – all sharing the common love of off-road motorcycle sport.
