Conditions could not have been better at Eastern Old Parks Farm, Ashby de la Zouche, for the third and final round of Fast Eddy Racings Winter Motoduro Series. The series has proved to be a hit with riders and there has been plenty of serious challenges for top spot in each and every class, in both the Youth and Adult races. Fast Eddy and his crew laid out a cracking course which wove around the field sections and into a small woodland before reappearing back onto the fields.Perfect ground conditions made for terrific racing and plenty of grip saw high-speed performances from many riders. Two one-hour adult and two 45-minute youth races made for plenty of action throughout the day with many of the top series spots still up for grabs.Harry Edmondson was in his element. Riding in the 85cc Small-wheel class he did well to win both races, starting behind some of the faster 85-150 riders.A perfect performance saw him take two wins after completing seven laps in each race.Harrisson Holdcroft followed him home in each race with Scott Draper taking two third places. In the 85-150cc class, Jacob James did his best to catch young Edmondson in the first race while Max Ditchfield took up the challenge in the second, each rider sharing a class win and a second place.Ben Murray finished third in the opening race and Joel Ibbotson took the spot in the second.Cole Cookland fought hard to win the 65cc class in the second race after Charlie Chater had pipped him to the flag in the first. Overall honours were shared as both riders had a win and a runner-up place to their name at the end of the day.George Yardley completed the top three line-up in the first race and Adam James grabbed third place in the second.Lewis Hurdsman was untouchable in the Auto class, as two more wins made him a clear winner for the series. Cory Cookland took two second places followed by Keelan Hope in both races. The Adult races suddenly got serious when Tom Healey showed up in the Pro/Expert class. This fast and competent rider pushed everyone hard for the win but Jack Edmondson was up to the task in the first race. Both riders gave no quarter over the opening lap but Jacko soon pulled a lead, despite a couple of crashes as Healey pushed hard to catch him too hard in fact as he suffered a handful of crashes. Jeremy Callow did well to keep the pair in sight in third place.Healey learned from his mistakes and took the win in the second race but only just.Jacko crashed hard a lap from the finish allowing Healey to make a 15-second gap but Jacko was back on the case and on a charge, finishing just a single second adrift as the pair crossed the line.Jem Callow collected his second third place. The only rider to win his class in both races was Veteran Jason Hope.Despite chipping a bone in his foot in the first race, he gritted his teeth and pushed hard to take fifth overall and first in the Vets class.Andy Pulfrey took second in the Vets class in both races while Mick Belcher grabbed the final podium place in the first outing, with Mark Plain third in the second race.Jack Ditchfield and Harry Aughterlony were as close as can be by the time the chequered flag waved at the end of the opening Adult race, with just two seconds between them.Aughterlony took the win, with Ditchy second and Lee Hattersley third.Ditchfield fired himself up for the second race and although Aughterlony pushed hard, Ditchy took the win.James Lockett finally got his Honda running right and showed he has the capability to mix it with the best of the Clubman riders by grabbing third in the final race.Martyn Grantham and Marc Vardy were another pair who shared a win apiece.Vardy took the top Sportsman spot first time out with Grantham second and Terry Palmer third but tables were turned in the second race as Grantham grabbed the win from Vardy and Palmer.Alex Walton was on song and took the Youth class 13-16 by storm in the first race, as Ben Coleman challenged hard in second ahead of Luke Knight.Joe Collier put in the performance of the day in this class by coming from fourth place in the opener to win the second race from Walton and Knight.
