There's hope for Ossa
By John Dickinson on 10th Feb 16
Since the acquisition of Gas Gas by Torrot and the exciting plans put in place and announced by the company, speculation has been rife concerning the future of Ossa.
The Ossa brand had been semi-integrated into Gas Gas by the Spanish government as part of a financial package, although Ossa was never actually owned by or officially a part of Gas Gas.
They did, however, share facilities and were apparently tied together in ways which has made it difficult to separate Ossa out of Gas Gas.
A short but succinct press release – attributed to ‘The Ossa Team' – has broken the silence and intimated that it plans to be back in production in 2016. These are the main points of the press release that also hinted that more news would be
forthcoming in the next few weeks.
The marque has been greatly harmed by the bankruptcy as many departments were integrated into the structure of Gas Gas but Ossa hopes to be free to manage its activities freely and independently in the coming weeks.
Ossa wants to thank its customers, importers, suppliers and friends for their patience and trust during this difficult time.
The company is working to offer new and exciting products in 2016 and is confident of a successful return.
"Obviously this is good news,” said British Ossa importer Nigel Birkett. "I receive many enquiries as to what is happening at Ossa going forward but obviously they can't say anything until everything is back in place.”
