Thump up the volume

Motocross

Matthew Neale tamed the power and size of his Pre-65 500 Ariel and rode it like a modern Two-stroke to win the Pre-unit Class in the 30th running of the National Eastern Thumpers Trial at its home at Thorrington, just outside Colchester in Essex, on Sunday.

While Neale was doing his thing in the Pre-unit class, last year's class winner, Steve Monk was blitzing once again the Unit category on his 250 Triumph to take his second consecutive win with just five marks lost.

However, lowest, most impressive score of the day went to James Newstead on his 175 BSA in the competitive Two-stroke class where he lost a miserly three dabs.
