Motocross Todd Kellett Weston Beach Race
After taking three consecutive wins in the adult solo race between 2016 and 2018, Drag'on Tek Yamaha rider Todd Kellett is back in 2021 for the 38th Weston Beach Race.
As he prepared to aim for Weston title number four, we caught up with Todd to find out how he feels ahead of the event.
TMX: How does it feel to be back racing at the Weston Beach Race?
Todd Kellett: "It's cool to be back. Having missed a year, I look forward to it. It fell right this year it doesn't clash with the French Beach Race Championship, so thought we would make the most of a pre-season race and use it for the bike time."
TMX: Will you be going for win number four?
TK: "Having won back-to-back in 2016, 2017 and 2018, it was a shame to miss a year, but it would be nice to add another one to the list. For us as the team, it's a warmup race really. Any bike time in a race environment before round one of the French Championship is a bonus."
TMX: With the announcement of Steve Holcombe coming this year, do you think you and him will have a big battle for the win?
TK: "It's good to see Steve is coming to the event. I definitely think it will be a good race and I look forward to racing it."
TMX: What do you do as prep for the Beach Race?
TK: "Preparation for me is months of work. I start training and testing in September, ready for round one of the French Beach races in October, but we aim to be at full fitness in January."
To watch Todd do battle for the title again, gate yourself to Weston-super-Mare on October 3.
