Trials Torque: Brown sugar

GUESS what Pickering DMC supremo David Brown was doing for his 84th birthday on Sunday?

Celebrating maybe, or just taking it easy? None of these.
Dave was out at Yatts Farm overseeing the club`s Easy Trial on his quad.
But he was disappointed with the entry of just twenty two riders, and I can see why, writes John Watson.
This is a fantastic venue, only usable over the winter months, but the quarries and undulating hillsides make it spot on for for this type of trial for young riders starting out, older riders winding down, or those who just want a Sunday morning ride off road.
Where are the riders who crave easy trials?
I get to a few trials over the year and one of the main gripes is the events are sometimes too hard, but when trials are put on specifically over easy routes to cater for such riders, their response seems to be carry on snoring when Sunday morning comes round.
It is difficult to understand quite what riders want nowadays.
